What We Do
Citizen Math offers engaging real-world lessons aligned to the major topics of middle and high school mathematics. Lessons offer opportunities for students to think critically and creatively, to develop arguments, and to listen to and critique the reasoning of others.
Lessons address questions like:
- What's the best bidding strategy at an auction? (Probability & Polynomial Functions)
- Is there an upside to having a bad day? (absolute value)
- Are coupons always a good deal? (percents)
- Should the government raise the minimum wage? (Linear systems)
If you're interested in dropping a little more awesome into your math class, you should definitely stop by!
We're also growing a community of teachers who think math class deserves conversations about the world. If you agree, we'd love for you to join at community.citizenmath.com.
